Doug Wolff was a gifted designer/artist who has been creating professionally and casually for over 50 years. Wolff has lived in Marshall for decades, where he grew gourds and carved them into the unique objects you see here.

Architectural design, product design, industrial design, and interior design were among Wolff’s professional experiences. Having worked with numerous materials to create models and new commercial items, Doug had a vast wealth of knowledge using obscure industrial techniques and creative media which he applies to his fine art.

The artwork in this exhibit is a collection of new and old works. We could not possibly hope to accommodate a full retrospective of Wolff’s prolific career as a visual artist. Doug’s paintings are mostly acrylic but incorporate numerous techniques and styles throughout his portfolio. The solo show on display offers a representation of Wolff’s wealth of technical knowledge and instinct for aesthetically pleasing design.

Doug was involved in the planning of this show.  However, his health took a turn for the worse and he passed away shortly after the show closed.

He is still greatly missed by those who knew him.
